Common Conditions

Conditions Frequently (and successfully) Treated

Neck and Back Pain. Using primarily a McKenzie based assessment and treatment approach, we combine hands on, individually tailored exercise programs with standard physical therapy treatment options (massage, mobilization techniques, stabilization, core training, modalities and aquatic therapy) to help you restore pain free function.

Sprains and Strains. Whether you over did it working in the garden, on the playing field, or playing with the kids sprains and strains can slow you down or stop you cold. Most sprains and strains are treated successfully in just a few visits. After the R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression and elevation) principles are employed, our physical therapists can show you the simple methods and exercises to get you back to what you want and need to do. Bursitis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and adhesive capsulitis can often result when left untreated.

"Thank you for helping me recover so quickly in preparation for my upcoming marathon. I feel lucky to have a PT that really cares!"

Post Surgical Rehabilitation. From Rotator Cuff repair and Spinal Fusions to Total Joint replacements and Cancer recovery, our Physical therapy staff provides over 18 years of hands on experience employing safe and effective programs for restoring mobility, strength and function.

Pain from Arthritis. Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis and even arthritis arising from Psoriasis conditions brings unique challenges when it comes to Physical therapy. Depending on the stage, mobility of the joints and other related medical conditions, the best course of treatment can only be determined after a complete evaluation is performed. In conjunction with your doctor’s advice, heat, cold, water therapy, exercise or massage may be excellent treatment options to alleviate and neutralize your pain in order to start moving again.

“It is so nice to have the one-on-one care you provide because it really has made a difference in helping me get my back and leg feeling better to where I can now take care of it myself.”

Post Amputation Care. An above the knee, below the knee or mid foot amputation can have life altering effects on your function. Proper treatment including range of motion, edema control, strengthening, prosthetic training and functional training are essential in getting you where you want to be. Experience in helping you through these important stages is want you need and deserve.

Neurological Conditions. Like the wiring in your home, neurological conditions can often be very simple or complex in nature. Because of the influence nerves have on our muscles, balance mechanisms, state of mind and even our digestive system, we need to be aware of what we can do to manage better on an every day basis. Physical therapy can help conditions such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Vertigo, the effects of a Stroke and other neurological problems at various stages to maximize function.

“The multiple sclerosis causes problems with my balance, strength and confidence with my walking. After four other therapy clinics weren’t able to help me, I was advised to try Achieve. Marty has given me the confidence and helped restore my strength to move so much better. Even my neurologist is impressed!”
